Fluttershy

This painting pulses with ENERGY.  The composition suggests a metamorphosis is taking place. Something I tend to reveal in my work. It reflects a soul caught between earthly darkness and the luminous possibility of flight. Her figure, rendered in expressive brushstrokes seems both grounded and ready to ascend. The birds become extensions of her own spiriti - some taking flight, others approaching, one resting near her face asking. The birds and bees are messengers, companions or perhaps fragments of her own becoming. In hesitation.
